The Pego City Council, through its Tourism department, has scheduled a series of guided tours that will take place during the months of March, April and May. A proposal that offers the possibility of immersing yourself in unique experiences to discover the idiosyncrasy of the Pego municipality.
Route programming
The programming includes a Guided tour of the walled town Every Thursday in March, April and May. A tour with the staff of the Tourist Office in which the most emblematic historical sites of the municipality are visited. The meeting will always be at 10:00 am.
Another option offered by this range of tourist offers to get to know the urban centre of Pego is the urban route scheduled for March 16. This is an event organized by the Mancomunitat de Pego i Les Valls and with the collaboration of the local guides association. In addition to getting to know emblematic places in Pego, there is also the possibility of tasting some of the local gastronomic products.
Two days later, on March 18, another route is scheduled, this time thematic, to discover The world of Fallas in Pego'Passejant per les Falles' offers visitors the chance to discover this traditional Valencian festival, which is deeply rooted in the town of Pegolina. During the event, a tour of the three Fallas commissions is organised to see the monuments that will be burnt on Sant Josep's day (19 March).
After a break of several weeks, this tourist program will resume on April 12, with a Hiking route through the Sierra de Mostalla, in collaboration with Tracks and Pedals. This 10-kilometre route, of medium difficulty and with a gradient of +281 metres, will start at 9:00 in the morning.
Another one is scheduled for April 19th at 9:30 am hiking route, this time by the Les Coves ravine until reaching La Figuereta. This is a route with a distance of 8,5 kilometres, with an average difficulty and a gradient of +555 metres and which will be directed by Fernando Sendra. The price of this getaway will be 5 euros.
The last of the proposals scheduled for the month of April will take place on the 27th starting at 10:00 a.m., with a Environmental route in the Ambra Castle. A route, led by environmental educator, Sergi Sánchez, that combines history with nature and makes this enclave one of the most iconic in the municipality.
Another event is scheduled for May 1st, starting at 11:00 am. environmental route. On this occasion, visitors will travel to the Gat Rock, a spot in the municipality where vines were once cultivated. A perfect opportunity to learn about the history of wine in Pego, from the hand of sommelier and environmentalist, Natalia Piera.
Two days later, on May 3, the second proposal of the month: Ethnobotanical route through the Marjal,
the most prized natural enclave for the pegolinos and pegolinas. The route, organised by Endèmica, will start at 9:30 in the morning.
On May 10th, starting at 9:30 a.m., the museum will be visited again. Ambra Castle, although this time the route will focus more on the historical theme of the enclave. And the last of the scheduled routes will be on May 18. Once again, the same experience with which the program began will be repeated: an urban route plus tasting, starting at 11:00 in the morning.
