The professionals from the Xaló clinic, assigned to the basic area of Benissa, have denounced the constant attacks, both physical and verbal, that they have been suffering in recent months from the population. Specifically, the Occupational Risk Prevention Unit of the Department of Health of Dénia –DSD- has received 6 complaints -5 verbal and 1 physical- filed by the staff assigned to the office: a doctor, a pediatrician and a support person.
Most of the attacks have been directed against support staff, who perform administrative tasks at the reception desk. The professionals denounce that the bad manners are constant and that they have come to blurt out phrases like "fuck you bitch" and even xenophobic insults, such as "shitty Venezuelan." On one occasion, they say, they have shaken the receptionist.
Despite the fact that the situation was already communicated to the City Council, which, through its Instagram profile, urged the population to maintain appropriate behavior; the insults, shouts, threats and defamations have continued, for which the Ribera Group has had to hire private security to guard the center. According to the professionals, "since the measure was adopted, the tense situation has changed radically."
The Legal Department of Marina Salud does not rule out taking legal action against the perpetrators of the attacks.
