Next Saturday, January 14, the Castle of Dénia, els Molinets de Pedreguer and Moraira Castle (Teulada) will participate in the Lighting of Towers, Atalayas and talayots from the Mediterranean. For Human Rights 2023.

The Ignition project began around seven years ago throughout the Mediterranean with the support of the Balearic Island Council and the Federations of Cultural Institutions such as IRMU or FEDINES, as well as other cultural and civic associations. In our region it has been organized by the IRMU and the Institute of Regional Studies of the Marina Alta, IECMA. This year three towns Teulada-Moraira, Pedreguer and Dénia participate.

The act of Igniting the towers has a historical meaning in that it recovers the warnings that were made from tower to tower to alert populations of the dangers of pirate attacks. Today the one who defends himself and is alert dreams of attacks against human rights and the destruction of heritage and that is the meaning of the Ignition.

The lighting in the Marina Alta is carried out with the collaboration of the Town Halls of Dénia, Teulada and Pedreguer, as well as cultural and festive associations: In Teulada with the cultural association Amigos de Teulada and Tómale fuego a la mecha, in Pedreguer with the association Los Pòrxens and Cohete y cuerda and in Dénia with the Maritime District Fault.

When and how will it take place?

The act is repeated in two sessions: in the morning at 13:00 p.m. smoke canisters will be lit from each castle or tower and in the afternoon, at 18:30 p.m., light flares will be lit. Previously, a manifesto for human rights that Amnesty International, a partner association of the Encendido, has written in this edition will be read.

In other words, to recover history to control the arrival of pirates to our shores.
Sounds good to me. But increase your vigilance and not a few days. Every day of the year and make these surveillance and defense zones be extended due to current needs in the face of the permanent invasion of the world of Islam in particular. What apart from an economic disaster is bringing very serious consequences given the cultural or non-cultural difference of our customs.
Stop spending on symbolism and be practical and if it seems belligerent on my part. To the Maghreb NO. That is why they take advantage of the weakness and private interests of our current government and enemy partners who are very concerned about arming Morocco for free and disarming the Spanish army. Putting in front of it instead of a "GREAT CAPTAIN GENERAL" and his team of generals from each weapon or armed body. A pair of foreign minister and army minister puppets. To which more edperpentic.
Excuse me, I greeted myself on a tangent, but since I've gotten involved. It is said
    Good afternoon.

What a cute and useless gesture, like painting little hands on the cabbages and all that, or making a plant wall that is actually a succession of tiles-flowerpots...very cute
