20 December 2024 - 11: 28

This Thursday the closing ceremony of the 13th Marina Alta Employment Workshop, held over the last year at the CREAMA facilities, took place. The event, held in the Assembly Hall of the Management Office of the Provincial Council of Dénia, was attended by numerous authorities and institutional representatives. Among them, the participation of the Director General of Employment and Training of Labora, Elías Amor Bravo, stood out, accompanied by José Luis Cardona, CREAMA councillor of the City Council of Xàbia and vice president of the consortium.

Also in attendance were the territorial director of Labora, Cortes Martínez; Conxa del Ruste Aguilar, director of Espai Labora Dénia; Sergi Ferrús Peris, mayor of Pedreguer; Francisca Solivelles, councillor for Commerce of Calpe; Antonio José Signes Costa, councillor of Gata de Gorgos; and María José García, councillor of CREAMA in Dénia. Also present were representatives of the Tourist Offices of the municipalities comprising CREAMA, the Santa Lucía Residence in Dénia and the San Juan de Dios Residence in Pego.

During the event, a video was shown summarising the activities carried out during the workshop and a report on the results was presented by the project director. José Luis Cardona highlighted the importance of this regional initiative as a commitment by CREAMA to the training and qualification of the inhabitants of Marina Alta. "The Marina Alta XIII Employment Workshop responds to the current challenges of our region: digitalisation, care for dependent people and sustainable, integrative and innovative development," he said.

Representatives from municipal residences and CREAMA agencies stressed the positive impact of the programme, highlighting that the participation of students in internships benefits all those involved, directly or indirectly.

The event continued with the presentation of diplomas to the students, after which Elías Amor Bravo spoke, praising the work of CREAMA as an example of cooperation between entities and agents in the territory. Amor Bravo also announced that, in 2025, a new employment workshop will begin at the end of January, reaffirming the commitment of the Generalitat Valenciana to training in the region.

The day concluded with a group photo that brought together the students, the teaching staff and the authorities present.

Comprehensive training and specialization

The Marina Alta XIII Employment Workshop, promoted by the Department of Education, Universities and Employment of the Generalitat Valenciana through LABORA, has trained 30 unemployed people from different municipalities of the Marina Alta in three specialties:

  • Social and health care: students completed internships at the Santa Lucía residence in Dénia, San Juan de Dios in Pego and the Maite Boronat Occupational Centre in Calpe. These internships were carried out in municipal centres, a requirement established by Labora.
  • Administration and data recording: participants collaborated in CREAMA agencies, providing customer service and telephone services, document management and archiving, as well as document destruction following specific protocols.
  • Community outreach: students supported the tourist offices of the associated municipalities, adapting tourist routes for specific groups in Teulada Moraira, Xàbia and Gata de Gorgos. They also participated in experimental projects such as Punt Nàutic and Xarxa Agrícola, promoting local and seasonal products.
  • Over the course of 12 months, programme participants received theoretical and practical training, expanding their skills and job prospects thanks to the ongoing support of CREAMA.
