They convene a new concentration of support for the 14 anti-fascists of Pego after knowing the date of the oral trial

November 29 from 2022 - 11: 57

From the GDS d'Encausats Pego and Alerta Solidària, once again call a rally on December 2 at 19:00 p.m., in the Pego town hall square, in rejection of the requests to condemn "excessive for demonstrating against fascism ». The call coincides with the announcement of the date of the oral trial, which will be on October 17, 2023 at 09:30 at the Provincial Court of Alicante.

Last October 18th it was two years since the events that will bring to trial fourteen young anti-fascists from the town of Pego, Marina Alta. That day, the neo-fascist group Gandiblues de Gandia toured the town carrying fascist symbols and with a threatening attitude. "Given the passivity of the authorities, a hundred young pegolins gathered outside the Cervantes soccer field to show their rejection of these attitudes," the organizers recall. The Police and the Civil Guard set up a security device for Gandiblues and escorted them to their cars. That same night, the Civil Guard issued a report on material damage and injuries allegedly carried out by the anti-fascists "which unleashed a repressive campaign of arrests and criminalization of the people who would later be prosecuted and with petitions for more than a hundred years distributed among the fourteen anti-fascists." ».

Adding all the requests, the Benidorm area Prosecutor's OfficeDénia, led by prosecutor Ricardo Calatayud Castelló, asks for from four years and nine months to nine years and two months in prison. The petitions are for all those accused of an alleged crime of public disorder, for which they are asking for three years and six months in prison and special disqualification from the right to passive suffrage (running in electoral processes) during the time of the sentence. Twelve, totaling two additional accusations, of attack against authority and minor injuries, with a request for a sentence of four years and five months. And two are also accused of threats, for which a year and three months in prison is requested.

“This year we will need the best of all of us, the young people of Pego will face the privacy of freedom for nine years, but we are many more… we are many more those who are retaliated for political reasons, we are many more who do not make it to the end of the month to cover vital needs, everything and having a paid job, but there are many more of us who have tired of mollas and want whole bread," they point out in their statement.
