29 July 2022 - 11: 58

The public road passenger transport service CV-202 seems to be a reality rather soon. The Ministry of Territorial Policy, Public Works and Mobility has put out to tender the contract for this service that will serve 740.000 inhabitants.

This road transport service will connect the main towns of La Marina Alta and La Marina Baixa with the urban area of Alicante and its main transport nodes and attraction centers of reference, such as the Alicante-Elche airport, the ADIF Alicante station ( AVE) and the University of Alicante.

The service will be structured in seven lines and will serve the municipalities of Alicante, El Campello, San Vicente del Raspeig, Dénia, Jávea, Pedreguer, Gata de Gorgos, Teulada-Moraira, Benissa, Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Calp, Benidorm, Vila Joiosa, Callosa d´en Sarriá, Altea, Polop, la Nucia and L´ Alfas del Pi.

Fast track service to the Marina Alta

The concession will have a minimum endowment of fourteen buses that will carry out nearly 2,1 million kilometers per year and 32.150 shipments, which is equivalent to 88 daily shipments. Most of the expeditions will have Benidorm as their nucleus.

Likewise, three lines will provide fast-track service to centers of great tourist importance such as Calp, Altea, Dénia, Jávea or Teulada and a connection with the airport will be enabled, which they currently lack. In addition, the service level of the provincial capital is improved with intermediate towns such as Vila Joiosa, Callosa d'en Sarriá, l'Alfás del Pi and La Nucia.

The new public transport service projects that the Ministry is putting out to tender establish technological standards, in terms of accessibility and related to the environment and energy efficiency, which will guarantee a comfortable service and with features in line with current times.

The vehicles will be equipped with an Operation Assistance System (SAE) that will transmit information in real time on the location and service data of the vehicles and it will be possible to provide timetable information in real time through different means such as dashboards or the web pages of the operators. In addition, it will enable payment using the interoperable MOBILIS card.

With the tender for the new services, which are expected to be completed this year, the Ministry is going to reorganize the entire regional network of interurban public transport by road for the next decade.

With this reorganization, the Ministry seeks to improve the quality of public service provision, increase accessibility to the regional public transport system, and promote complementarity between the different modes of transport existing in the territory, in order to provide a more effective response to the mobility needs of the population.

We hope that the routes are TRULY ACCESSIBLE and that the service is reached QUICKLY since it is necessary to connect the Marina Baja and Alta with ALICANTE AND ELCHE!!! It is SHAMEFUL that after the billions that tourists leave in the Valencian Community they put them in their pockets and that there is NO GOOD PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION in large and tourist towns!! I am no longer talking about transportation for the stupid STUDENTS that we have to travel km back and forth and that directly we CANNOT even because there is NO🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️😎

Excellent plan, hopefully we won't have to wait too long for this service. A direct route to Elche airport would be extremely beneficial for our community.
