This morning, the Minister of Justice, the Interior and Public Administration, Gabriela Bravo, announced the launch of an office for emergency response from which to offer technical support and informative advice to both City Councils and citizens affected by the forest fire originated in the Vall d'Ebo. The help and management position will depend on the Valencian Agency for Security and Emergency Response (AVSRE).
The office in question will be located in the Ebo town hall building, a municipality that has been most seriously affected by the flames with almost 3.000 hectares devastated, according to its mayor, Nori Jiménez. This is how the Generalitat will begin the process of recovering the area, bringing the teams and personnel of the Generalitat Valenciana closer to the municipalities and towns with little administrative capacity, most of those hit by the fire.
The main task of the management position in Ebo will be to streamline bureaucratic procedures, especially for the affected neighbors. To do this, both an email and a single telephone line will be enabled to go to for this purpose. “The neighbors will not need to physically move to any office. Through the information they will obtain by phone and email, they will obtain everything they need to be able to process the necessary solutions”, Bravo clarified.
On the other hand, the councilor has indicated that "the Generalitat will assume the preparation of the experts in housing and other similar infrastructures, an essential procedure for obtaining compensation." In addition to the fact that the AVSRE will also be in charge of cleaning the interface of the municipalities to remove the burned debris and remains that carry risks for the neighbors.
Processing of the aid decree
Finally, Bravo has transferred that next Tuesday the president of the Generalitat, Ximo Puig, has convened an extraordinary Council to process the aid decree that the Generalitat will launch. This will be a comprehensive plan “for recovery, reforestation and also for economic recovery”, he has pointed out.
