The three Compromís councillors in the Ondara Town Hall, Jordi Dominguis, Lluís Fornés and Àngels Grimalt, have announced their resignation from the delegations they managed under the government pact with the PSPV Ondara. The resignation is effective immediately, according to the councillors in a statement issued today.
"After reflecting deeply on our personal and political situation, we have come to the conclusion that, due to political disagreements with our government partners, and more specifically with the mayor, which affect our ability to fulfill the duties and responsibilities of these positions, as well as due to his lack of respect towards the two mayors, it is time to step aside," the councilors explained in their statement.
The municipal group of Compromís has expressed its disappointment at what it considers a deterioration in the relationship with the mayor, a situation that contrasts with the fluid collaboration that was maintained in the two previous legislatures, when agreements were possible. Despite this decision, the councillors are grateful for the trust that both the members of the Council and the citizens of Ondara placed in them when they elected them to their posts.
"It has been an honour and a privilege to be part of this collective project and to contribute to the development and well-being of our community," said Dominguis, Fornés and Grimalt. They also stressed their commitment to ensuring the governability of the municipality, expressing their desire for Ondara to "become progressive again."
Finally, the Compromís councillors wished the remaining members of the City Council success in achieving their objectives and future projects.
