The deputy spokesperson for Compromís, Paula Espinosa, and the deputy Gerard Fullana have registered a battery of parliamentary questions so that the Consell takes responsibility and explains what its actions are going to be after Teulada-Moraira has been left without drinking water supply .
According to Fullana, "what has been feared for months has been confirmed and the PP Council refused to admit that it would happen, despite the evidence that this summer the drought and the negligent management of water resources would make some coastal towns They will be left without drinking water. Teulada and Moraira has been the first case and from Compromís we demand that the Consell react.
«It is a shame – added the deputy – that in the face of the serious drought situation and the lack of water policies consistent with the resources we have, the Mazón government has publicly maintained for months that the Marina Alta would not suffer water restrictions. this summer, denying the evidence and not applying measures to prevent this from happening.
For his part, Espinosa demands solutions from the Consell. "In addition to restoring the situation that the residents of Teulada and Moraira are suffering, the Valencian government has to evaluate which other municipalities are at risk of not being able to offer drinking water to their municipalities during the summer."
«The Mazón government has to rectify and establish extraordinary measures to alleviate the effects of the drought in the Valencian territory and not only in the short term. In this sense, one of the most important is to restrict the possibility of new urban planning licenses where water stress conditions pose a danger to the supply of drinking water," concluded Espinosa.
