Compromís has accused VAPF and the Llíber City Council of "trying to confuse public opinion" by making public the filing of a complaint by SEPRONA, which is not related to the legal proceedings seeking the annulment of the macroPAI. This complaint was limited to questioning the start of the works due to the suspension of the sewerage license and other aspects such as the works during the high temperatures of July 2023. In fact, the coalition was unaware of the investigation of this case, since it had not received any notification in this regard. "They have tried to use this filing as if it were the case that denounces the approval of the 2021 PAI to discredit us," the coalition lamented.
Compromís has recalled that the causes requesting the annulment of the PAI before the administrative litigation court are still valid, due to deficiencies both in the modification of the general plan for 2021 and in the approval of the program during the pandemic, in January 2021. One of the general causes is promoted by several town councils in the Vall del Pop, while the other, referring to the re-parcelling, is led by the opposition municipal group in Llíber and by the group in the Alicante Provincial Council.
Among other issues, Compromís states that "it has been proven that both the Llíber City Council and the construction company VAPF lied when they assured that they had a water concession in 2001 and 2021 to deal with the 488 villas with swimming pools."
The Valencianists point out that "thanks to the legal actions, the promoters of the PAI have been forced to quickly obtain a water permit to avoid a nullity sentence."
The water concession requested in 2023 by the Llíber City Council shows that neither the Partial Plan nor the approval of the 2021 PAI had a water sufficiency study issued by the Júcar Hydrographic Confederation (CHX), a requirement established by the Water Law.
At the beginning of the summer, a preliminary study was received from the CHX in response to the subsequent request from the Llíber City Council. This report has received more than 700 allegations, as various irregularities have been detected, including the manipulation of data on the water needs of the PAI approved by the City Council itself in 2021, which went from the initial 200.000 m³ per year to 60.000 m³.
Finally, Compromís has announced that its legal department is studying the possibility of filing new complaints in response to the reports that reveal more irregularities in the processing. "The legal battle against the power structures that destroy our mountains is not easy, and even less so with a regional government that is legislating against it, but people should know that we will take it to the end. Beyond the bureaucratic debate, the ideas are clear: we are firmly opposed to this destructive urban planning model," say Compromís.
I wholly support commitment in this fight for the mountains of the valley and would like to help if needed.
