Compromís criticizes and lists the cuts in the Marina Alta due to "the disappearance of 80 million euros per month for basic services"

This morning, the councilors of Compromís per Dénia, Rafa Carrió, María José García and Valen Alcalà, together with the Compromís deputy in les Corts, Gerard Fullana, have offered a press conference in which they have harshly criticized the policies of the autonomous government of PP and Vox, describing them as "chaotic and ultra-conservative.

Rafa Carrió, spokesperson for the party in Dénia, has expressed his concern about what he describes as "indiscriminate cuts" in the educational field by the autonomous government led by the Popular Party and Vox.

Carrió has specifically pointed out Minister Rovira, whom he has nicknamed "Rovira Scissorhands", accusing him of carrying out cuts at all educational levels without any type of consensus. According to Compromís, these measures are generating an unprecedented wave of protests and demonstrations in the educational sector, especially in the Valencian Community.

Motion against the Educational Freedom Law

The party has announced its intention to present a motion in the next plenary session in Dénia to demand the withdrawal of the controversial Educational Freedom Law, which, according to them, lacks criteria and consensus, ultimately favoring private education to the detriment of the public.

In addition, Compromís has expressed its concern about the stagnation of school construction plans included in the Edificant Plan, highlighting the lack of progress in important projects such as the expansion of the Raquel Payá special education school and the Gent de Mar integrated vocational training center. .

The party has stressed its commitment to the defense of quality public education and in Valencian, rejecting any attempt to return to past policies that, according to them, favored the privatization and deterioration of the educational system.

Critical health situation

For his part, Valen Alcalà highlighted that, after a year of government by the Popular Party and Vox, a policy aimed at weakening public services is evident. He placed special emphasis on the health sector, where it was pointed out that the situation is critical, especially in the Marina region. A reversal of health services that does not meet the real needs of the region was mentioned, which has resulted in a significant increase in waiting lists and problems in emergency care.

In addition, the lack of compliance with commitments in health infrastructure was addressed, such as the construction of health centers in Denia and Calp, which should have been completed more than two decades ago.

Compromís thus demanded that the department provide an immediate solution to these problems, as well as responsibility on the part of the company contracted to manage the health services. The urgency of addressing these issues was highlighted to improve health care in the region, which, according to Compromís representatives, is in a regrettable situation due to "low cost reversal" policies that they consider unacceptable.

An "extreme danger" for the environment

Maria José García, for her part, highlighted the growing concern about environmental deterioration in the region. García stressed that the cutback policies implemented by the current government are endangering not only health care, but also the health of the natural environment. She highlighted the drought situation, the deterioration of local landscapes and the risk of forest fires, with special mention to Montgó.

He criticized the lack of action by the Consell against climate change, as well as the reduction of resources allocated to preventing forest fires and cleaning municipal roads. García highlighted that, while millions are allocated for other purposes, the budget is cut in crucial areas for environmental protection.

He urged not to allow these cutback policies to seriously affect the mountains and the natural environment of the region, calling the government "denier" and representing an "extreme danger" to the local environment.

«Eighty million euros that previously went to basic services disappear every month

Gerard Fullana has harshly criticized the management of the regional government over the last year. Fullana has pointed out that in the ten months of government there has been a significant setback in various essential areas, seriously affecting citizens.

According to the deputy, in ten months the government has diverted more than 800 million euros that were previously allocated to basic services, part of which has been used to reduce taxes on the richest inheritances. This translates into a monthly loss of 80 million euros in essential public services.

In the educational field, Fullana has denounced the paralysis of projects financed by the Edificant Plan, including the construction of several institutes in the region. "63 million euros are in danger, with educational centers that have been automatically paralyzed," she stated, mentioning the case of the Calp Institute, whose city council will have to assume additional costs if it wishes to complete the construction.

In the health sector, the situation is equally worrying. Fullana has mentioned cuts of 32 million euros in the amounts allocated to the hospitals of Manises and Dénia, affecting 500 jobs planned for these health areas. In Dénia, he added, there are serious problems with payroll payments, with extreme cases such as that of a worker who only earned 68 cents the last month.

The deputy has also addressed the issue of day centers, reporting that those planned in Xaló and Ràfol have been cancelled, and has highlighted the lack of fire aid in the 33 municipalities of the region, describing it as "extremely serious."

In the agricultural field, Fullana has criticized the management of European aid, pointing out that the farmers of Vall de Laguar have been waiting for ten months to receive aid for the cherry, initially scheduled for October last year.

Concluding his intervention, Fullana underlined Compromís' philosophy of mobilizing in every town and not only in the Valencian Cortes, to make visible the impact of government cuts. "Today we are in the Marina Alta, one of the most affected regions, carrying out symbolic actions to denounce these cuts and encourage citizens to take an active position in the next European elections," he declared.
