Compromís describes the reversal of Health in the Marina Alta as "the worst of all those carried out by the Generalitat"

On February 1, the Marina Alta recovered the Health Department of Dénia which covers the entire Marina Alta, going from being managed by the private company Marina Salud to direct management by the Generalitat Valenciana. In a statement, Compromís has described this reversal as "the worst of all those carried out by the different governments of the Generalitat Valenciana", adding that Primary Care has been abandoned in the region by the Minister of Health, Marciano Gómez. . "Of the 350 places promised by the minister, only 290 have been created, of which only 2 will be allocated to health centers," they estimated.

This morning, the Compromís Health spokesperson, Carles Esteve, developed: «Conseller Marciano Gómez continues relentlessly with his low-cost health roadmap for the Marina Alta. In January, after the reversal, he announced 350 reinforcement positions, but the reality is that only 290 of those positions have been created. We already said that it was an insufficient number. Of those 290 places created, only two are for primary care, places that will go to the commissioner's offices and not to health centers, which is where they are most needed.

According to Esteve, "we are seeing that, despite the existence of waiting lists to attend pediatrics or family medicine of even three, four or five weeks in health centers, the reality is that Marciano Gómez will not provide reinforcements; and the structural deficit, according to his own data, is that there would be a lack of 49 professional positions only between pediatrics, family medicine and primary care nursing.

Esteve has stated that five months ago the president of the Generalitat Valenciana, Carlos Mazón, announced a "model and orderly" reversal in a health department that had spent 15 years in private hands with great social and political rejection. The deputy has considered the statements as a staging of the current Consell and has described "the reversal project of the PP and Vox as insufficient in terms of reinforcements proposed."

Esteve points out that these reinforcements contrast greatly with the reversal that the Valencian government is carrying out with those carried out by the previous left-wing council. «While the Dénia staff has only seen a staff increase of 16% with the Consell de Mazón, the departments of Torrevieja or Alzira were supported with staff increases of 58 and 31%, respectively, so that the ratios were equal to the rest of public management departments. Mazón's is a low-cost healthcare model that is once again abandoned in the Marina Alta after 15 years in private hands," the deputy concluded.
