Compromís ugly Ana Sala's attitude towards the Lucifer Well Commonwealth: "They do not meet because they do not pay to attend"

According to Compromís per Calp, after two years since the composition of the Mancomunidad del Pozo Lucifer was constituted in this legislature, of which the municipalities of Calp, Murla and Vall de Laguar are part, the board of the same has not been reunited not once more. And this despite the fact that the well is the main source of water supply for the municipalities that are part of it.

At the time, when the new board of the mancomunidad was constituted, the members reached an agreement so that the presidency would take turns in two years for the mayor of Calp, the popular Ana Sala, and two years for the mayor of the Vall de Laguar, Carles Mengual, from Compromís. However, the mayor of Calp has run out of her mandate without meeting the board even once.

From Compromís per Calp they link the "negligence" of the mayor to the fact that attendance to plenary sessions of the same is not paid, and that is why they compare the performance of the Commonwealth with that of the "Consortium for Water Supply and Sanitation of the municipalities of the Marina Alta ”, consortium dependent on the Diputación de Alicante. For Valencians, it is striking that the body on which the supply of drinking water depends does not meet because they do not pay to attend, while the meetings of the Consortium that depends on the Provincial Council meet regularly "and everyone attends - and charges - even if they do absolutely nothing ". That is why they insist that the mayor should resign from office and give the alternative to the mayor of Vall de Laguar, Carles Mengual, as agreed at the time.

The controversy is also part of an intense local debate on the remuneration that councilors should receive, and in this sense the Socialist Party already requested in the last plenary session that the minutes of the meetings of the meetings of " Aguas de Calpe ”, for which the Councilors come to charge about € 800 per month, indicating that“ since the mayoress considers that the PSOE councilors were not earning their salary, it will be necessary to see what the councilors' contributions have been in this Collegiate body for which they have been collecting important bonuses ". The appeal that the socialist group presented at the end of August against the decree by which the salaries of its councilors were withdrawn is still pending resolution.
