Last Saturday, January 28, Ondara celebrated the Mig Any de Sant Jaume 2023 with various events and activities throughout the day. The sunny day allowed the very high participation to enjoy all the acts, being the first year after the pandemic in which all the acts have been able to be recovered without restrictions. A celebration that has been organized by the Department of Festivals and Traditions of Ondara, directed by Miguel Gomis.
The activities of the Mig Any de Sant Jaume began in the Prado, where children and adults participated in the morning in the children's park with inflatables and activities. In the afternoon, boys and girls of all ages, accompanied by their families, participated in the 'bous amb carretons' release in Bous square, which was a total success, and in which the little ones will have a lot of fun .
At noon, the Prado hosted 'La Dinaora' entertained by the group Dr. Xtrangerlove, and then there were popular lunches, sobaquillo or frying pan; a lunch at the Prado that was a complete success with participation and was attended by more than 400 people, grouped by clubs and quintadas. In the frying pan was followed by the performance of the cover group 'Perversión', which Ondara likes so much, given that they have successfully participated on several occasions in the Rock&Moll concerts of Sant Jaume. As a climax, the Titanic orchestra performed, making everyone enjoy and filling the Prado to the fullest in the evening. Throughout the day there was bar service and music inside the Prado.
In the sports field, the municipal ratchet of Ondara gathered in the afternoon the lovers of the ball for the games of peñas and quintadas of the Half Year of Santiago, who played rebound and brush. The event included the participation of 4 supporters clubs in the Peñas y Quintadas Tournament (the winning supporters club was "El trabuco", which played the final against 'Quintà 2022', which was second classified), and 6 couples in the Parent-child tournament, whose winners were Ramón Caselles and Unai Caselles.
The Councilor for Festivals and Traditions of Ondara, Miguel Gomis, has valued very positively all the activities held on the occasion of the Half Year of Santiago, indicating that this festive and leisure offer stood out for its good organization, the high participation and the good atmosphere that It could be seen among the attendees, who experienced this preview of the Sant Jaume 2023 Festivities with great hope and enthusiasm. At the same time, he wanted to thank the collaboration of the Sant Jaume Festival Committee, Bar Trinquet, Club de Pilota Ondara, Màxim Sound, and the Peña Taurina in organizing the activities.
