May 26 from 2023 - 10: 00

Alternativa Teulada Moraira is running for the first time in the municipal elections and does so with the leadership of Chantal Giron, who was councilor of the Popular Party until 2014. For the first time, Giron agrees to an interview with lamarinaalta.com on the occasion of the elections that will be held this Sunday, May 28.

ASK. Why do you think the residents of Teulada-Moraira have to vote for you to be the mayor of their municipality for the next 4 years?

ANSWER. So that finally, the management focuses on the obvious needs of our municipality. As an engineering graduate with a master's degree in account auditing and 14 years of experience in municipal management, I feel prepared and very excited to contribute all this technical experience, which I consider fundamental to running the council.

Q. How do you assess the management of the government team carried out in the last 2 years?

R. I always value the facts. And I have not seen any facts... and an efficient management absent. And for this reason, I have taken a step forward to manage, project and work.

Let's talk a little about the proposals that have been raised in this election campaign...

P. HOUSING. What do you propose to facilitate access to housing for the youngest and people with low incomes?

R. The current problem of public housing is an issue that we have been dragging on for years. Despite the land reserves, an adequate offer of subsidized housing has never been developed, which today has recognized state and regional aid. Also, it is urgent to develop a plan for endowment residences located on public land for lease to people under 30 years of age and vulnerable groups. The great difficulty of the workers who come to our municipality is finding accommodation for rent at an affordable price.

Q. TOURISM. What tourism model do you want for Teulada-Moraira?

R. The tourist model has been determined for years. It is a family tourism. It is necessary to improve security, activities adapted to the family and a pleasant environment, which are the main elements that this type of tourism values. Our main line of action is seasonal adjustment, which we have developed in our electoral program.

Q. TRANSPORTS. Do you think that Teulada-Moraira is a municipality with good urban public transport?

R. We will enable a transport to access the different public services between both urban centers. As a conservatory, sports activities, etc.

Q. INFRASTRUCTURES. What infrastructures do you consider to be most necessary for your municipality?

R. It is essential to improve the existing infrastructure and end its degradation because we consider that it is the face of the people.
We see that it is a priority:
• Asphalt: improve and maintain the condition of our streets and highways.
• Sewerage: update the sanitation plan to adjust it to the existing infrastructures.
• An intensive maintenance plan for municipal and historic buildings.
• Make the old aerial telephone wiring disappear and promote a fiber optic network.
• Recondition and recover municipal parks and green areas.
• Investment in solar streetlights, especially in deficit areas, and rebalancing the overlighting of certain roads.
• Strengthen the maintenance of container islands
• Install a mobile ecopark in the Moraira car park one day a week and two days in summer.
• Enable green waste areas.

Q. SOCIAL SERVICES. How do you think the Social Services of Teulada Moraira should improve?

R. Strengthening information mechanisms for citizens on rights and social resources. Also promoting volunteering as a complementary resource to existing municipal social services. Developing municipal programs that pay special attention to our elders.

Q. URBAN PLANNING. How should the urban future of Teulada Moraira be? What measures do you propose in this matter?

R. We are committed to an intensive maintenance plan.
• Regenerating public spaces promoting the rehabilitation of built heritage.
• Improving the comprehensive image of the most depressed areas and promoting playful or artistic interventions.
• Actively managing communication with the Ministry responsible for Coasts for better maintenance of the beach and coastline areas.
• Fleeing from new and large construction projects, focusing on those already started in order to finish them.
• Pay special attention to the actions necessary to revitalize the old town of Teulada.
• Carry out an improvement plan for Avenida del Mediterráneo as it is the main entrance road to the municipality.

Q. And finally, if we talk about post-electoral pacts, with which party would you feel more comfortable to govern?

R. At this moment we are not thinking of another agreement than the one we want to sign with the residents of Teulada Moraira. We want to be a useful alternative. We are fed up with recent pacts that have been signed without any loyalty to the will of the neighbors. Our loyalty is with every citizen of Teulada Moraira. And to them we owe our desire to dialogue.
