January 02 from 2023 - 10: 26

The new year opens with the teams for the next Lliga Caixabank configured. The most relevant team competition in the elite Valencian pilota includes three groups from the Marina Alta, each in their respective categories.

In the raspall tournament, which will complete its 40th edition, the team of Xàbia It will be made up of Vercher, Lorja and Néstor. For its part, the scale i corda discipline will celebrate its thirty-second edition and will integrate two regional teams. On the one hand, Pedreguer-maymas, with Giner, Javi and Conillet, and, on the other, Dénia, with Francés, Santi and Carlos.

In general, in each modality seven participating teams have been made, all of them trios, which, as is tradition, will represent a town in the Valencian Community.

Competition system

In both modalities the competition system will be similar. In addition, the format of last year is repeated in which there were changes with respect to the regular phase, which was divided into two acts, with eliminations at the conclusion of each round. These variations were well received by the participants and fostered more competitiveness, since the margin of error of the teams was considerably reduced.

Therefore, the CaixaBank League in each of its modalities will start with the first round, made up of 21 games. At the end of it, the team that occupies the last position in the classification will be eliminated.

The remaining six teams will keep the points obtained and will play a second round, in this case of 15 games. At the end, the first four teams in the table will access the semifinals, which will be played roundtrip with the possibility of extension in the event of a tie, while the two finals will be played in a single game.

Start of the tournament

The Lliga CaixaBank de raspall will begin on January 13 in the trinquets of Piles and El Genovés while the first games of the Lliga CaixaBank de escala i corda will be played on January 14 in the trinquets of Pelayo and Pedreguer.

With the configuration of the teams, the calendar for the first round is also established, which will be announced later. As is the norm, the CaixaBank Lliga will visit the usual trinquets in the elite pilota and others that will occasionally open their doors, thus responding to the demand of numerous city councils to host the benchmark team competition.
