OPINION | Luisina Daives, Amadem psychologist
Vacation, this word that is so necessary to protect and take care of our Mental Health, and that, instead of thinking about destinations or budget when naming it, we should link it with disconnection, rest, change of schedules, environments, people, etc. We need to stop and find ourselves in another situation. Our brain needs it to be able to nourish itself with other stimuli, to feel pleasure and, above all, to reduce stress and anxiety. It is not necessary that it involves long trips, large expenses, it is not even necessary to leave your own home, what is necessary and I would dare say obligatory, is that we do other things. For example: by not going to work I can stay in bed a little longer, then spend more time having breakfast, or take a swim in the sea, which is so close and accessible. We can prepare our meals better, with time and good quality, then some rest, a book or a series. We can try to see people that the rest of the year becomes more difficult. In short, there are numerous activities that we can do on vacation! One aspect that I would like to highlight is sleep, rest, see what it is like and what quality of sleep you have, since it will be a great protector of your Mental Health.
At Amadem, we are reaching the end of the workshops, until September when we resume. Now it's time for this much-needed change, with the aim of enjoying other environments and giving our next routine a touch of vacation leisure. It would be wonderful if we take advantage of this shift in responsibilities and routines, to look for those little moments of self-care, where I can breathe, meditate, take walks, take care of my skin, hair or body, generate good thoughts and beautiful messages towards me and my dearest ones. @s, they can also be ingredients of this time. As I tell you every time we close a stage, we are very proud of our work and the objectives that we are achieving, and, above all, of the people who are part of our beloved NGO, since each one, from the place that is found within Amadem, contributes, nourishes, illuminates and enhances the path we follow. See you in September!
