For the second consecutive year, Calp City Council has attended Madrid Fusión Alimentos de España, the most important gastronomic congress in the world, which is being held from today until January 29 at IFEMA.
The Town Hall has assisted with the Fishermen's Guild and the Enigma Restaurant to promote Peix de Calp and especially the brand Gamba Blanca de Calp. This morning the chef of the Enigma Restaurant has carried out a culinary demonstration in which she has prepared a dish featuring white shrimp and aromatic herbs from the Marina Alta. The dish called A walk through Calp is made up of shrimp gnocchi and wild asparagus tips with sage shoots, rosemary flowers and citrus foam.
The white prawns were provided by the Calp Fishermen's Guild, whose Chief Patron, Paco Catalá, was present at the culinary demonstration. Catalá once again emphasised the value and richness of the product marketed by the Calp Guild.
A table was also set up to display and promote the Peix de Calp and Gamba Blanca de Calp brands. The Councillor for Economic Promotion, Paqui Solivelles, and the Councillor Francisco Fernández de Ybarra were present at the event.
Solivelles pointed out that "the Gamba Blanca de Calp brand joins the already well-known Peix de Calp brand launched by the Town Hall, Creama and the Cofradía years ago to promote and promote fish from the Calp market. The brand emphasises the excellence of this gastronomic product as well as its great variety and versatility, which makes it an ideal delicacy for both haute cuisine and the kitchen of any home."
