With the aim of eradicating the illegal dumping of pruning, belongings and debris that are taking place in the municipality, since the beginning of September the City Council has intensified environmental surveillance in coordination with the Local Police and Acciona, the company awarded the cleaning service and waste management.
As a result of this initiative In less than a month there have been four complaints with penalties for dumping pruning remains on public roads not complying with the street cleaning ordinance.
The decision to step up environmental monitoring was adopted after detecting an increase in illegal dumping this summer, especially pruning, in urbanizations. In this sense, not only has vigilance increased, but also the modification of the Ordinance on Road Cleaning and Urban Solid Waste is being studied to regulate these discharges as a serious infraction, which will entail a tightening of sanctions.
At the same time, the City Council has informed citizens that individuals can take pruning remains to Punt Blanc as long as they do not exceed 1 m5 or 3 kilos tied in bundles not exceeding one meter in length or deposit them next to the containers or on the façade line as long as it does not exceed 30 m1 or 5 kilos tied in bundles per home and from 3:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
If it is business pruning remains or if the remains are greater than 30 kilos, the owner is obliged to remove them and transport them to the duly authorized facility.
