The mayor of Calp, Ana Sala, and the Councillor for Education, Mariola Mulet, met this morning with Andreu Almiñana, the new education inspector of the Territorial Directorate of Education of Alicante, to discuss the status of the works to adapt the plot that will house prefabricated modules for the new IES Les Salines and the CEIP Oltà. Municipal technicians also participated in the meeting.
After the meeting, the delegation went to the plot of land, located behind the Silene Nursery School in Ifac, where they held a meeting with the directors of both educational centres.
Inspector Andreu Almiñana has assured that "the technical adaptation unit has sent the needs table to the Ministry and the works are going according to plan." The City Council has expressed its intention to speed up these works as much as possible so that the Ministry can proceed with the installation of the prefabricated classrooms in the shortest possible time.
In December, the council awarded the contract to Etosa Obras y Servicios Building, SLU for the sum of 3.041.699,77 euros and a four-month execution period. In addition, the project management was awarded this week, and the works are expected to begin in approximately ten days.
The works include demolition and land clearing, earthmoving, road construction, paving and asphalting, construction of concrete structures, painting and road signage, planting and maintenance of green areas, as well as the installation of public lighting.
It should be remembered that the City Council has given up a municipal plot of more than 30.000 square metres for the installation of these modules for a period of five years, with the aim of decongesting the current educational centres. The urbanisation works will be carried out on two plots of 6.900 square metres each, where the classrooms of a nursery and primary school will be located, as well as the second secondary school. Access roads with pavements, a parking area and a landscaped green area will also be built, totalling 33.600 square metres. The supply of drinking water and the evacuation of waste water will be carried out through the municipal network.
On the other hand, the construction works of the IES Les Salines continue to advance, awarded to the company Vialterra Infraestructuras SA for an amount of 14.748.935,36 euros and with a completion period of 24 months.
