Calp doubles the tenders granted compared to last year

August 30 from 2021 - 15: 10

The Calp City Council has processed a total of 179 tenders, between major, minor and private, from January 2021 to the present, compared to 89 that were held in the same period of 2020.

This increase in the number of contracts is due to the implementation of electronic bidding, which has made it possible to streamline processes as well as a profound restructuring of the Contracting department. In addition to providing it with more people, according to the council, they have been trained in recruitment.

In fact, in 2020, the year in which these changes were introduced, there was already a significant increase in the number of tenders compared to previous years - from May to December, 57 new contracts were registered.

“The exponential increase in the number of contracts that is being produced in the City Council shows that we are using all the resources that we have at our disposal to speed up the procedures in terms of contracting and thus be able to offer services efficiently and without delay to the citizens ”, said the mayor of Calp, Ana Sala.

In this sense, the City Council has also conducted training courses for entrepreneurs and self-employed in the municipality so that they could learn the necessary steps to be able to present themselves for a tender or contract carried out by a public administration.

The contracts can be consulted in the Contractor's Profile through the municipal website. There are currently 14 open tenders, among them, complementary works to the expansion of the Calp Sur municipal cemetery, works for the reform of dependencies of the Calp House of Culture (Phase 1), the supply of gardening and park materials as well as the courier, parcel and postal service for the Department of Tourism and shipping material to fairs and promotional events of the Calp City Council. The tender is also open to carry out the Vallesa park, which amounts to 287.494,10 euros (financed 100% by the Provincial Council) with which it is intended to create play spaces suitable for children of different ages, install urban furniture and landscaping the entire area.

"Carrying out these bidding processes means an improvement in competitive competition, which benefits the service offered by the City Council to citizens," added the mayor.
