It was a brave challenge. The one to accumulate 8.848 meters of unevenness (the equivalent to the height of Mount Everest) in the route from Pego to the port of the Vall d'Ebo. Although with a clear purpose, to raise funds for ADEMA, the multiple sclerosis association of Alicante. And the final result of the «solidarity Everesting by Xiquet» managed to accumulate, nothing more and nothing less than, 5.606 euros for the cause.

The donation campaign for the fight against multiple sclerosis was closed last August, a week after having overcome the challenge proposed by José Fornés, El Xiquet of the Segària Cycling Club. After counting the transfers received, the sale of bracelets, solidarity meters and deducting the costs of printing and organization of the event, the amount collected was 5.486 euros.
However, a few hours after making this amount public, another donation by the Pego and Les Valls Cycling Club increased the final solidarity amount to 5.606 euros.
From the Segària Cycling Club, this amount will be donated in full to ADEMA, which works to make life easier for its more than 400 associates with psychological help and physiotherapy, offering transport, gym or swimming pool services, among many other jobs.
