The Monitoring Commission of the Travel Bonus of the Generalitat Valenciana carried out at the beginning of October brought to light the news that is being prepared for the edition of the program in 2023.
Next year, 15 million euros will be allocated to the initiative, which has managed to register, for the moment, this 2022 about 40.000 reservations in establishments in the Community out of season.
News of the 2023 Travel Bonus
The regional secretary of Tourism, Francesc Colomer, during the Commission highlighted the following developments for next year:
- The intensity of the aid will be 60% of the cost of the contracted tourist services, without distinction of short or long stay. However, the minimum stay will continue to be two consecutive nights in the same tourist accommodation and will be granted up to a maximum of 600 euros per aid granted.
- Beneficiaries of the Travel Bonus may add other services to their reservation that will also have the bonus, such as meals, maximum half-board, health and wellness treatments, sports activities, excursions and entertainment activities, and parking.
When does the new application period start?
For next 2023, the Generalitat will establish a single deadline for submitting applications, which will begin on December 20, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. Applications may be submitted continuously, so the deadline will be valid throughout the program. On this novelty, Colomer stressed that the objective "is to give more flexibility to the decision of the trip".
When can you enjoy?
The trip chosen by each beneficiary may be made between January 16 and May 31, 2023 and between September 18 and December 22, 2023. For the first tranche, up to a maximum of 12 million euros will be allocated and for the second will be awarded 3 million euros.
Requirements of the Travel Voucher
Each natural person can only be a beneficiary of aid within the period of validity of the program. In addition, once your promotional code for the Travel Voucher has been assigned, you will have 10 business days to formalize your reservation at any of the tourist establishments participating in the program.
Requests must be made only through the telematic procedure of the electronic processing platform of the Generalitat. The procedure will again have two steps to follow: request for an appointment and the registration process at the indicated time and day, which will require a certificate and electronic signature.
Since its launch in October 2020, the Valencian Community Travel Voucher, from which more than 260.000 Valencian men and women have already benefited, has generated a direct and indirect economic impact on the tourism sector of more than 42,5 million of euros. On the other hand, the program has helped to contribute to keeping open the tourist offer of the Valencian Community and the maintenance of employment linked to it.
