The Diputación de Alicante has committed more than 2,4 million euros to the municipalities of Poble Nou de Benitatxell and Teulada-Moraira from the provincial plans Plan, Closer, More Sports and More Water. With the intention of supervising the investments, the deputies of Infrastructures and Assistance to Municipalities, Javier Gutiérrez, and of Doctor Esquerdo, Family and Pedro Herrero, Juan Bautista Roselló, have recently visited the towns.
Gutiérrez has highlighted that this year and only with the Closer Plan, the institution has granted these two towns of the Marina Alta close to half a million euros. "Specifically, they are 490.000 euros, more than double that of the Generalitat's Cooperation Fund, which with a mere 272.000 euros falls short, with an insufficient amount to be able to face priority expenses and investments," he lamented.
Improvements in Benitatxell
The two provincial deputies met yesterday in the first place with the mayor of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, Miguel Angel Garcia Buigues, to review the local projects to which, as a whole, the Provincial Council has allocated nearly 1,2 million euros. The main investments are part of the Planifica plans, with an endowment of 548.000 euros, and Más Cerca, with 440.000 euros from 2020. Also with Más Deporte y Más Agua, the municipality will receive around 150.000 euros.
Among the most outstanding interventions is the reform of the Plaza de Les Pesqueres. The organization of accesses and accessible paving in the urban nucleus, the landscaping of the sports area, the creation of new paddle tennis courts and the partial redevelopment of Alicante and València avenues will also be undertaken, a work for an amount of 243.076 euros that has been visited by the deputies.
Gutiérrez has announced that the Alicante Provincial Council will contribute more than one million euros to carry out all these projects through the Infrastructure area. "Tools such as Closer and Plan are a clear commitment of the provincial government team to promote projects in our towns, especially in the smaller ones that, without this aid, would suffer a serious lack of investment", he assured.
For his part, Roselló has focused on the investment effort made by the provincial institution, "carrying out more than 500 projects in the three years of the legislature and the results of which we see today here in El Poble Nou de Benitatxell". It has also reaffirmed the aid to municipalities with smaller populations, not only quantitatively but also qualitatively, "since the Provincial Council collects the demands and concerns of the mayors, making projects that had been pending execution for many years a reality."
The mayor of the municipality has thanked the financing from the different plans of the institution "because for Benitatxell it has meant the beginning of a new stage, since in the past it was not up to what the citizens demanded". In addition, the first mayor explained that all the investment has been included in an urban master plan "which means a new step in the history of our town."
Performances in Teulada-Moraira
The deputies Juan Bautista Roselló and Javier Gutiérrez yesterday held a second meeting with the mayor of Teulada Moraira, Raúl Llobell, to analyze the works subsidized with aid from the Diputación de Alicante worth more than 1.270.000 euros from the Planifica plans, Closer, More Sport and More Water.
One of the actions visited was the Avenida Mediterráneo, where the asphalting and improvement works and the replacement of the rainwater network have been completed, with a budget of 185.000 euros.
The redevelopment of Calle Colón and the installation of underground containers, interventions worth more than 600.000 euros each, and the Pla del Mar area sewage system will also be undertaken with aid from the Provincial Council. 1,4 million euros, will cover the Moraira sports center. The Diputación has also subsidized the construction of two tennis courts, new parks and children's games in public squares and the adaptation and replacement of lighting in sports facilities, three actions that have already been completed.
The mayor of Teulada Moraira thanked the provincial deputies for their visit, with whom he visited, among other places, the Moraira sports center. Llobell has expressed his desire to "provide a solution soon to the coverage of these sports facilities thanks to the collaboration of the Provincial Council, without which it would be difficult to carry out important works."
