January 22 from 2025 - 17: 42

Poble Nou de Benitatxell, a town known for its natural and cultural wealth, will participate this year in Fitur, the second most important tourism fair in the world. It will be present from Thursday 23 to Saturday 25 January with a proposal focused on sustainability and tourism that respects the environment, traditions, nature and the Valencian language.

The flagship project to be presented by the municipality will be “Tourism to Breathe”. This innovative programme, which will be unveiled on Friday 24th at 11:15 in the press room 'Municipios Costa Blanca', offers a unique experience: five guided meditations in iconic places in the town. The selected places include the Portalet viewpoint, the Moraig cove, the Morro Roabit, the Les Fonts park and the Pous de l'Abiar.

In each of these enclaves, pedestals have been installed with a QR code that directs visitors to the website. turismeperarespirar.com, where you can access detailed information about each location and listen to a meditation designed specifically for that place. These sessions are available in Valencian and Spanish, both on the website and on platforms such as Spotify y YouTube.

The meditations combine an introduction with a description of the surroundings and mindfulness exercises focused on breathing, sensations, thoughts and connection with nature. According to the Councillor for Tourism, Víctor BisquertThe project also seeks to attract people interested in meditation remotely: "It is a tool for El Poble Nou de Benitatxell to reach many people interested in and practicing meditation in a different way, through unique and exclusive meditations in the town."

In addition to this innovative project, the municipality will highlight its traditions on Saturday 25th at 11:00 am at the Costa Blanca Stand with a live demonstration of the making of reeds and an exhibition of local products. Reeds, a symbol of the roots of El Poble Nou de Benitatxell, have a long tradition associated with the 'escaldà de la pansa', declared an Asset of Intangible Interest in 2018, and the traditional fishing on the cliffs known as 'pesqueres de cingle'.
