El Poble Nou de Benitatxell has recently inaugurated a new playground in the green area of the Les Fonts urbanization. Although some small repairs were still missing, for several weekends now this recreation and leisure space has been filled with families, not only from the poor, but also from neighboring municipalities such as Xàbia and Teuladaꟷ who enjoy a pleasant time in a unique environment.
This week the latest clearing and pruning work in the area has been completed, as well as the assembly of some pieces, and this park has been officially inaugurated, which promises to be an important meeting point. Mayor, Miguel Ángel García, the Councilor for the Environment and Urban Planning, Jorge Pascual, and the Environment technician, Juan Fran Picó, have visited the area to inspect the final result.
The park houses a play area for the little ones with a solid wood multi-adventure circuit. There is a zip line, a slide, a climbing wall, swings, a suspension bridge, a snail, seesaws and others.
On the upper terrace of the different levels of terracing there is also a rest area with picnic tables, as well as a pipican in a more secluded sector for pets to relieve themselves without disturbing the children's play.
Little by little it is expected to provide the park with more services and equipment. In fact, municipal services are already working on an adjoining plot to set up a car park and install signage. The area will also be surrounded by a wooden fence and the rest area will be completed with more picnic tables and benches.
“It has been spectacular, even better than we imagined when we were planning it. Proof of this is that the public has responded extremely well, and for many weekends, despite not being completely finished, it has been packed. Undoubtedly, a space like this for families was greatly needed, and it has been a success”, García and Pascual pointed out.
