Acknowledging an entire vital and personal trajectory is what the Benissa City Council plans to do with Miguel Giner Ribes, better known as 'Miquel El Barber', next Thursday, June 9 at 20:30 p.m. in the Cultural Hall. A tribute that is born from civil society and with which it is intended to value the figure of a person in love with his town who, over the last 40 years, has dedicated himself to capturing the entire history of Benissa in images.
There have been three local associations in charge of promoting the initiative, the Coral Benissenca, the Association of Moors and Christians and the Music Band. A proposal that, together with that of the prestigious neurologist Juan Andrés Burguera, was approved unanimously in the ordinary plenary session of the month of May held this week. The mayor, Arturo Poquet, highlighted the work of El Barber, stating that "thanks to him our town today has a graphic story of priceless value". To which he added: "Benissa was indebted to a person who has contributed to enriching the collective memory”.
