Benissa Impuls and Benissa Town Hall have today presented a new awareness campaign on the importance of recycling, “Separa. Recicla. Estalvia”. Specifically, the public company aims to promote the use of two free services for waste separation: the mobile ecopark and the collection of bulky waste at home.
Mobile Ecopark
Regarding the Mobile Ecopark service, there are several new features, the first of which refers to the change of day, since from February 8, residents will be able to use it every Saturday on the Paseo Joaquín Piera and Mariana Torres. In addition, it will be available in the morning (from 10 a.m. to 14 p.m.) and afternoon (from 15 p.m. to 19 p.m.). "We have managed to extend the hours and change the day. Saturday is market day and, therefore, we are thinking of taking advantage of the greater influx of people in the town centre," said Vicent Ferrer, councillor for Benissa Impuls.
The mobile eco-park is computerised, which allows for the counting of what each user recycles. “According to the MARE Consortium, this computerisation and the expected increase in its use will allow the municipality of Benissa to receive rebates, which is expected to have a positive impact on the municipal tax,” said Ferrer.
What can be thrown away in the mobile eco-park?
According to Consorci Mare, private users can deposit a wide range of products, including aerosols, batteries, small and medium-sized appliances, wood, cleaning products, oils, metals, etc.
Free home pick-up service
On the other hand, in this awareness campaign on the importance of waste separation, Benissa Impuls and Benissa Town Hall remind citizens of the availability of the free Home Collection service for furniture, large appliances or other bulky objects. Residents of the municipality only need to call 96 573 35 97 and they will be told which day they should deposit the waste at the door of their homes so that the Benissa Impuls workers can come to collect it and transport it to the municipal eco-park plant for subsequent treatment.
In the words of Arturo Poquet, Mayor of Benissa, "our priority is to continue improving public services that allow the population of Benissa to properly separate waste and that, in addition, is easy and comfortable for everyone."
