The Department of Works of the Benissa Town Council has completed the asphalting works of more than 12.200 square metres on several roads in the coastal area.
114.000 euros have been invested in this new phase of asphalting, financed by the Alicante Provincial Council's +Cerca Plan. The work has focused mainly on improving the paths in the coastal area: Avenida de les Calcides, Avenida Baladrar, Camí la Rajada, Avenida Mediterrània, Calle La Melva, Avenida dels Garcies, Calle Azalea and Calle Ginjoler. Some sections of Racó de Carabou have also been repaired.
"Benissa has the largest municipal area in the Marina Alta, so the connection between the different areas of the municipality is one of the key objectives of the governing team," said Arturo Poquet, Mayor of Benissa. In this regard, this asphalting phase takes place two years after Benissa carried out the largest asphalting plan, with an investment of 600.000 euros in roads and paths in the rural and coastal areas.
"A few months ago we finished installing new street lighting in several areas of the municipality and now we are finishing a second key asphalt plan for the coastal area. We continue to invest in improving the connections and infrastructure of our extensive municipal area," said Adrián Cabrera, Councillor for Works and Services.
