More than 1.000 days have already passed in Benissa since the last time we had the opportunity to enjoy an election gala for the Queens of the Festivities of the Puríssima Xiqueta in September, on that occasion under the roof of the Palau Sant Pere and in bad weather conditions.
Three years in which the Department of Fiestas, hand in hand with the Commission and the Benissa citizens as a whole, have regrouped the ages, in such a way that on this occasion there will be four chosen ones; two children and two adults, out of a total of 45 applicants born in the years 2013, 2014, 2015 in the case of the little ones and 2003 and 2004 when we refer to those of eighteen.
More than 1.200 people are expected to attend.
It will be, therefore, next Saturday the 10th in Plaça Rei Jaume I from 22 p.m. when we will know the names of the girls who will represent the town of Benissa in the patron saint festivities of the year 2023.
Some festivities, those of the Puríssima Xiqueta 2023, in which the current Commission, headed by its president, David Ivars, has been working for a few months. They will have the first litmus test this weekend in a particularly complex election due to the large number of participants compared to previous editions.
In the words of Ivars, "it has been a challenge for this commission to organize and balance all times with the aim of not excessively lengthening the act". For his part, the mayor, Arturo Poquet, who this week participated in a work meeting, wanted to publicly acknowledge the work of the entire Festival Commission in the first official act they organize.
Benissa will have 4 Queens in 2023
"Surely they offer us an emotional and attractive staging for all the benisseros and benisseras", said the highest municipal representative.
Juansa Ivars, Lidia Bertomeu, María José Llopis and Vanessa Avilés together with the little ones Aitor Romero and Gabriella Tent will be the people in charge of conducting the act.
