“The Valencian pilot is much more than sport; it is its own identity, tradition and culture”. This has been the firm declaration of intent with which Adrián Cabrera has started the appearance in which the agreement reached between the Fundació Pilota Valenciana and the Benissa City Council was presented. A principle of agreement through which it is intended to schedule twelve games in the Municipal Trinquet throughout the year 2022, in addition to contributing, from the Delegate Department of Sports and the rest of the council areas, to the promotion and dissemination through the regional channels of this regional sports modality that in recent years has once again gained followers thanks to training and promotion from the base.
The councilman, Adrián Cabrera, who from the beginning of his mandate has always defined himself as a strong defender of the Pilota Valenciana, wanted to remind that it is an "unavoidable responsibility of all the public administrations of the Valencian Community to support this practice, to dignify the figure of the pilotari and increase the hobby and knowledge among our society”. Objectives perfectly aligned with those of the Fundació Pilota Valenciana, which has found in this municipality of the Marina Alta an indispensable ally in its projection and promotion task.
In addition, one of the points of this agreement that will soon be signed by both administrations must be highlighted, and that is that, for the first time in history, Benissa will host female games within this annual program, a milestone that the council wanted emphasize to continue advancing towards a more egalitarian native sport.
The city council's Communication Department is already working on designing the advertising strategy that will allow the games to be publicized in the coming months.
