As of Thursday, August 4, the central area will have restricted access to most vehicles: only those of the neighbors, as well as those of the loading and unloading services (the latter during business hours) will be able to access . At the moment, during the month of August, these traffic cuts will only be carried out on Thursday mornings.
Later, in September the closure of the old town will be from Thursday to Sunday. “It is done progressively, firstly to get used to it, and secondly so that the neighbors, as well as the affected businesses, test the mechanisms and can detect any failure, which will try to be resolved as quickly as possible”, explains the councilor of Urbanism, Laura Castellà.
How will the automatic pylons work?
The new devices are complemented by control cameras installed at the same points as the automatic pylons. The cameras will read the license plates and give the order to the pylons so that they come down and let the vehicles circulate. The program has a memory where the license plates that can access this area of the municipality will be registered.

The automatic pylons also have sound sensors that will speed up the descent of the pylon when services such as the Local Police or health services (Acció Urgent or ambulance) approach and can access without having to wait.

Regarding the location of the four installed automatic bollards:
- Sant Antoni de Pàdua street, at the intersection with Ramón y Cajal street
