The consumer voucher campaign begins in Benissa to "invigorate and promote" local commerce

01 September 2022 - 14: 17

Today, Thursday, September 1, the campaign to promote local commerce in Benissa through consumer vouchers has begun. Until next September 30, the residents of the town will be able to spend the cards in shops that have joined this action.

Both the Benissa City Council and the Trade Union have been working for a month to get the campaign off to a strong start and be a complete success. Juan Motilla, president of the Trade Union, has specified that the money cards will allow the money to be spent in installments, not all at once, and that the businesses will collect it instantly through the POS or dataphone system.

Benisser City Council has been able to carry out this project through Creama, the Association of Merchants and Entrepreneurs of Benissa (ACEB). For this reason, Arturo Poquet, mayor of Benissa, wanted to thank the involvement of both the City Council and Creama and the Union Union.

"They have made a significant effort to carry out an action that helps boost trade, strengthen local networks and consolidate our strategy to support the economic fabric of Benissa", added the mayor. Motilla, for his part, also thanked the involvement of the Diputación de Alicante for having made the launch of the initiative possible.

Support for local trade

“Closeness, proximity and quality. The consumption experience in local businesses cannot be compared to that of a large area or what we do through online platforms. Local businesses are better for their direct treatment, for their advisory capacity, for the flexibility they offer and, above all, for their quality”, Poquet defended.

This is how the mayor showed his support for local businesses and added: “Local businesses are the basis of our economy, but also the cornerstone of our society. Some streets and squares with open shops mean that there is greater mobility of people, more security, more atmosphere and, ultimately, more life. If a town has no local trade, it goes out. For this reason, we want to continue turning on and turning on the switch that plugs in the local businesses in Benissa”.
