The “Municipis per la Pau” project of the Marina Alta production company Col·lectiu Mirades starts

This Thursday, September 19, at 19:00 p.m., at the Centre Social de Quart de Poblet, the project "Municipis per la Pau" will begin, an awareness-raising initiative promoted by the independent production company Col·lectiu Mirades and organized by the Fons Valencià per la Solidaritat. The project will tour various Valencian municipalities with the aim of promoting reflection on peace, human rights and non-violence.

At each event, attendees will be able to view the investigative documentary The fils of the tauler, a work that explores the causes and consequences of armed conflicts. This documentary, presented as a plea in favor of the Culture of Peace and the defense of Human Rights, seeks to generate a space for critical thinking and collective dialogue.

After the screening, a debate will be opened with the participation of the film's director, José Gayà, the coordinator of the Center Delàs d'estudis per la Pau, Jordi Calvo, and two of the protagonists of The fils of the taulerClaudia García, from Colombia, and Oum Mohamad, a Sahrawi refugee living in Pedreguer. The debate will allow participants to analyse the current situation of armed conflicts and reflect on the construction of more peaceful societies free of violence.

The fils of the tauler The documentary has been internationally recognised, winning the award at the International Non-Violence Film Festival, in which more than 700 films from over 50 countries participated. In addition, the documentary has been shown at numerous film festivals and broadcast in 45 countries on television. It is worth noting that part of the filming took place in the Marina Alta, with the collaboration of several towns in the region.
