The winners of the XLV edition of the Premis 25 d'Abril Vila de Benissa 2025 are now known. These awards are recognised for being the second longest-running in the Valencian Community and the first in the Marina Alta, which gives them special relevance in the cultural field. In its 45th edition, the competition is consolidating itself as a prestigious benchmark, recognising literary talent through various modalities and promoting cultural promotion in the region.
In the poetry category, the prize went to "Quan la mort arrela" by Francesc Culleré Moragues. The jury was composed of Victoria Eugenia Cremades González, Josep Manuel Agulló i Pastor and Bartomeu Bagur Froilan.
In the research category, the winners were Maria Saiz Raimundo and Ivan Carbonell Iglesias with "Lletra Marina: A literary history of the Marina Alta", and the jury was made up of Vicent Raimon Baldaquí Escandell, Joaquín Juan Penalva and Joan Borja i Sanz.
In the short story category, the award went to "Les ignorades" by Marta Casamort Ejarque, with the jury comprising Carme Manuel Cuenca, Irene Rodrigo Martínez and Lourdes Toledo Lorente.
Meanwhile, in the theatre category, the award went to "Com un ansòmit" by Ismael Sempere Mirón, with the jury being Ramón Roselló Ivars, Josefa Alvarado Valero and Ramón Pros Cervera. The awards ceremony will be held on 11 April at 20:00 pm at the Centre d'Art Taller d'Ivars.
