The Treasury Commission plans to approve tomorrow a credit modification to incorporate this item, paid for with remnants, into the budget, which will raise the investment included in this extraordinary plan promoted for the first time last year by the government team.

"The government team of the Diputación de Alicante is very clear that the main mission of this institution is to help the town councils and we are not going to leave any of them behind", highlighted Mazón, who added that the good financial situation of the Diputación "It allows us to reinforce our investments to guarantee adequate services and infrastructures in our municipalities".

For her part, the vice president and deputy for the Water Cycle, Ana Serna, explained that "thanks to this extraordinary contribution we will be able to attend to all the supply and sanitation infrastructures requested by the municipalities through line 3 of the Plan + Agua 2021 and that could not be covered due to lack of budget”.

Plan +Water

The +Water Plan of the Diputación de Alicante started in 2021 with a total contribution of 9,5 million euros and contemplated three lines of action. On the one hand, one, endowed with 5,1 million euros, aimed at supply and sanitation infrastructures to be executed by the Diputación rejected in the ordinary call for 2021. In this case, the 50 municipalities that were left out due to lack of of budget.

The second line of action had an item of 1.670.800 euros for hydraulic infrastructure works rejected in Line B of the 2021 call - works of first establishment, reform or major repair of supply and sanitation works carried out by municipalities. Likewise, the 42 requests that could not be covered initially entered this section.

Finally, the third line was opened to all the municipalities of the province with an item of 2.729.200 euros, which will now be extended with another 4,6 million euros "so as not to leave any municipality behind", as it has insisted Serna. In this case, subsidies to municipalities for works on hydraulic infrastructures and installations are determined by the number of inhabitants of the municipality, being 100% for those with less than 2.000.
