The Provincial Council of Alicante will carry out this year the control of the quality of water for human consumption in 55 municipalities in the province with an investment of 275.000 euros. Specifically, in the Marina Alta this aid will go to 19 municipalities with less than 10.000 inhabitants with an investment of 92.430 euros.

The vice president and deputy of the Water Cycle, Ana Serna, stressed that the objective of this subsidy program "is to guarantee citizens that the water they consume meets all quality parameters", while highlighting "the implication and support that the Alicante Provincial Council provides to all municipalities in an issue as important for this province as water ”.

The non-monetary aid includes the execution by the Provincial Council of the corresponding analyzes and the cost of each action is defined by the Water Cycle area based on the necessary controls in each municipality. The subsidized works include, depending on the case, the control and complete analysis, the analysis at the consumer's tap, the presence of heavy metals, the analysis of Vinyl chloride, nitrates, pesticides or salmonella, the radioactive activity, the visit for sampling and minutes or uploading data to SINAC.

In the Marina Alta, the towns of Llíber, Sanet and Negrals, Xaló, El Ràfol d'Almunia, Senija, Gata de Gorgos, La Vall d'Alcalà, Beniarbeig, Benigembla, L'Atzúbia, Benidoleig, Murla, Castell de Castells, La Vall de Laguar, La Vall d'Ebo, Sagra, Tormos, Benimeli, Vall de Gallinera with 92.430 euros.
